there are hands

in the woodwork

knotted and long

twisting

fingers of

wooden strength

twining upwards and

into the heavens

not below

or beyond

the water

in wells

tapping resources

hidden like

veins in

a young one

desperate reaching

returning to earth

this cycle continues

renewing the clusters

of leaves on the

stems of the

branches between
